The Care Quality Commission "requires improvement"

Interim findings of independent review published

Interim findings of an independent review carried out by Dr Penny Dash into the operational effectiveness of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) were published on 26 July 2024, and these included a catalogue of significant failings on the part of the organisation, which had been subject to increasing criticism over the recent months. The interim chief executive of the CQC has confirmed that the organisation accepted in full the findings and recommendations in the interim review, which identified clear areas where improvement was urgently needed.
