Foreign Subsidies Regulation enforcement continues in Europe

The European Commission has announced it has launched two further in-depth investigations under the 2023 Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR), which, as CLI reported in February, fundamentally expands the application of EU state aid rules to address market distortions caused by foreign subsidies. The Commission's main goal is to assess whether the companies involved received subsidies from foreign governments that gave them an "unfair advantage to win public contracts in the EU".
