CMA wins legal challenge on domestic search warrants

The UK's High Court has ruled in favour of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in a case in which the competition enforcer challenged a Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) decision related to search warrants. Specifically, the court has held that the CMA is not always required to identify evidence that an individual has a "propensity" to destroy documents to obtain a domestic search warrant in a cartel investigation.
