Charterparties - Termination of charterparty - Redelivery of vessels - Effect of termination of charterparty on sub-charters - Relief against forfeiture - Obligations of guarantors

The claimants were two Singapore companies, each of which owned a ro-ro ferry, respectively Alf Pollak and Maria Grazia Onorato. Both were built in Germany, each at a cost of around €55 million. The claimants also owned the yard where the ferries were built. The four defendants were Italian companies within the Onorato group, specialising in ferries and operating theItalian domestic ferry business.
