US$1.1 billion deal to settle Philips faulty breathing devices claims

Dutch medical products maker Philips has reached a US$1.1 billion (£877 million) deal to settle lawsuits in the US relating to potentially faulty breathing devices. BBC News said: “The settlement is expected to go some way towards drawing a line under a controversial and deeply damaging episode for the company, which has hurt its finances and its reputation.
