The claimant was a Malaysian company providing salvage and engineering services. On 27 October 2022 the defendant's vessel Kmax Pro caught fire and grounded. At the time the vessel was carrying a cargo of fibreboard, much of which was damaged both by the fire and by water used to put out the fire. The voyage could not be completed.
