Family Judge suggests costs orders as cases go along

Re V (Human Fertilisation And Embryology Act 2008) [2016] Med LR 664, [2016] EWHC 2356 (Fam), 30 September 2016

The facts of the decision were simple – V’s same sex partner gave birth to a child by means of IVF treatment, and they both signed all the necessary documentation to become the legal parents of the child. However, it later transpired that the clinic misplaced V’s “Form WP”, which meant that V was not the child’s legal parent. V therefore applied to the court for a declaration of parentage.
