Seven-figure compensation for RTA victim
The victim of an overseas road traffic accident that resulted in 96 per cent burns has been awarded seven-figure compensation for her serious injuries. Whilst in the French Alps, the coach she was travelling in crashed and burst into flames, killing the driver and injuring dozens of passengers. She suffered 96 per cent burns and was given just a one in 1,000 chance of survival. She spent three months in an induced coma and has undergone more than 200 operations and procedures. The trauma to her body has caused permanent damage to her optic nerve, which has left her with no central vision, and she struggles with her grip because of the damage to her hands.
