"Faking injuries or exaggerating the severity of injuries to secure insurance payouts is appalling cynical fraud and the majority of the public have no sympathy with those who engage in it. IFED have prosecuted a number of people tempted by the mistaken lure that there is quick cash to be made and sought to publicise the severe consequences a conviction brings. The criminal methods being used are always shifting and they need an agile response that draws in everyone affected to present the strongest possible united front, which is why events such as this are so valuable." Ollie Little, Head of the Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED), speaking at DWF's casualty counter-fraud conference in London.
