BRIT HIRES RODRIGUEZ TO LEAD LATIN AMERICAN ENGINEERING BUSINESS

Global specialty re/insurer Brit has launched a Latin American engineering offering as it seeks to build its presence in the Americas. The team will be led by Yesid Rodriguez, who joins as vice president, from PartnerRe. Brit said Rodriguez' hire was part of it strategy to expand its footprint in the Americas, focusing on specialist areas where it can deliver "sustainable and profitable growth". He will be based in Miami and will target Latin America and the Caribbean regions. Matthew Wilson, Brit Group deputy chief executive and Brit Global Specialty chief executive, said Latin America was an important region for the group and Rodriquez' hire would complement the carrier's Miami hub.
