Aggregation in solicitors’ PI policies – Court of Appeal orders “a fresh start”

The Court of Appeal has determined the construction of the aggregation provisions in solicitor PI policies in a case which has seen judicial scrutiny for the first time of clause 2.5 of the Minimum Terms and Conditions required to be incorporated into such policies. The outcome is hugely significant for firms and their insurers facing multiple claims arising from similar errors in related transactions, and for claimants who have suffered loss from such transactions.
