AIR PLANS EXPANSION OF SOUTH EAST ASIA MODELLING TOOLS
AIR Worldwide is poised to announce a significant expansion of its modelling tools for south east Asia next month, with further global expansion to follow next year with investments in the Middle East and Africa region, Insurance Day has reported. This summer’s launches include the launch of typhoon modelling capabilities for Guam, Macau, Saipan and Vietnam.Vietnam and Macau will also be served by new earthquake modelling capabilities, alongside Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei and Malaysia. AIR’s earthquake model for southeast Asia will now also include liquefaction and tsunami sub-perils for Indonesia, the Philippines and Taiwan, while typhoon modelling capabilities have been enhanced to include precipitation-based flooding and storm surge for Hong Kong, the Philippines and Taiwan. Next year, AIR said it will be releasing the industry’s first inland flood model for Japan, with flood models for Canada and China to follow.
