DECISION ON BOLT'S SUCCESSOR STILL 'A LONG WAY OFF' AS SHORTLIST PREPARED
The process of appointing a new director of performance management at Lloyd’s still has “a long way to go,” according to Insurance Day. The selection of Tom Bolt’s successor, who left Lloyd’s at the end of April, is reaching its final stages, but well-placed sources said an announcement was not imminent. A shortlist of candidates is understood to have been provided by headhunter Heidrick & Struggles, but interviews have yet to take place. XL Catlin's Paul Jardine and Allied World Europe president Julian James - a former director of worldwide markets at Lloyd's - have been linked to the role, although it is not clear whether they applied. Bolt left Lloyd's on April 28, with Theresa Froehlich, who heads up underwriting performance, taking on all market-facing syndicate issues. It is expected that the responsibilities of Bolt’s successor will change, with some predicting a narrower set of functions.
