Civil Procedure Rules

“Changes galore”


In two pages of the New Law Journal of 15 April, District Judge Stephen Gold related the key changes in an “earth-moving” series of changes to the Civil Procedure Rules by the Civil Procedure (Amendment) Rules 2016 (SI 2016/234) (the 83rd CPR update) which came into force on 6 April. The reforms include costs budgeting; transferring charging orders and attachment applications to the County Court Money Claims Centre; possession enforcement procedures; online bankruptcy and increased fees.
