US extends scrutiny of Standard Chartered sanctions compliance

Standard Chartered Bank will undergo monitoring of its sanctions compliance programme for an additional three years, to 10 December 2017, following extension of two-year deferred prosecution agreements with the US Department of Justice and the New York County District Attorney’s Office. The bank said in a statement that it would work closely with the authorities to make “additional substantial improvements” to meet the required standard.
