European Parliament demands ACTA transparency

The European Parliament has voted by an overwhelming majority to adopt a resolution demanding greater transparency in negotiations over the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement.

Voting 663-13, MEPs have threatened to take the European Commission to court if it does not reveal details of the secretive international treaty it is negotiating with the US and 12 other countries. The European Parliament is also demanding a limit on the scope of the treaty the Commission is able to negotiate.
