Remedies

244. Compensation: damages for breach of contract

If none of the services promised by the carrier have been performed, the money paid for them by the customer (freight charges) can be recovered from the carrier. Beyond that, any money recoverable for breach of the contract of carriage is recovered as damages - usually, as this discussion (244 to 248) hereafter assumes, damages recovered by the customer from the carrier.
