Crisis highlights misunderstandings on SPEs
Special purpose entities (SPE), more commonly known as special purpose vehicles in the insurance market, came under stress during last year’s financial crisis, exposing “serious deficiencies in the understanding and risk management” of these structures, according to a new report issued last month by the Joint Forum.
