Reinsurance Practice and the Law
Chapter 18
COMMON TERMS THAT DELIMIT THE SCOPE OF COVER AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS CLAUSES
INTRODUCTION
18.1
We do not, in this book, propose to set out and analyse every type of clause which may appear in a reinsurance wording—not even those which occur in practically every reinsurance contract. Some reinsurance clauses are straightforward and uncontroversial, and the circumstances in which their use is required are obvious. Other clauses may be “one off” provisions designed for highly specific circumstances, and which will require individual analysis if they ever give rise to disputes: such clauses do not lend themselves to general comment.
