Laparoscopic surgery claim

Ward v Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust [2023] EWHC 2803 (KB)

The benefits of laparoscopic surgery are well recognised. The procedure enables patients to recover more quickly than they do after conventional surgery and tend to be discharged earlier from the hospital. In the case outlined below, the claimant argued unsuccessfully that there had been a lack of skill and care amounting to negligence on the part of the surgeon.
