Universities and duties owed to students

Important pending case

In May 2022, in Abrahat v University of Bristol, the judge found that staff at Bristol University had discriminated against Natasha Abrahat in respect of a disability under the Equality Act 2010 and awarded her parents compensation following her tragic death. However, the judge also held that Universities owe no duty of care in negligence in respect of mental health (https://www.judiciary.uk/judgments/abrahart-v-university-of-bristol/).
