QBE NORTH AMERICA HIRES AIG’S JOHNSTON AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE

QBE North America has appointed Russell Johnston as chief executive. Johnston has joined from AIG, where he has served since 1990 in a range of senior business and operational roles. He most recently served as AIG Casualty in the Americas, with responsibility for US, Canada, Bermuda and London-based US casualty underwriters. He will succeed David Duclos at QBE, who is retiring from full-time executive employment. Duclos will remain with QBE as non-executive director of emerging markets and Equator Re.
